“Comfort through the Crisis” Series Reaches Youth at a Critical Time
Will I graduate? Will I come in contact with the virus? Will there be a total global and economic shutdown?
These were some of the legitimate concerns troubling youth and young adults at Toronto Central Church amidst the COVID-19 outbreak. In some cases, the crisis may even have contributed to bouts of anxiety and panic attacks.
Pastor Kirk Dunchie, Toronto Central’s assistant pastor, rose to the occasion to offer hope, peace and comfort through this trying time. After conversations with his wife Melicia, a mental health practitioner, and Toronto Central’s lead pastor, Joel Nembhard, and sessions of earnest prayer, he was convicted that a youth and young adult-focused series would address the needs and concerns of this population. This marked the genesis of the “Comfort through the Crisis” series.
