Master Guides

The establishment of the Ruth Master Guide Ministry marked a memorable, historical event for our church on July 7, 2018 as we hosted our first Induction consecration service. The Inaugural celebration was supported by our Ontario Conference representatives, church members, and other Master Guides from our sister churches as we worshipped and gave thanks to God for his goodness and blessings that special day.
The inaugural inductees were: Master Guides in training (MGT’s); Tamara Haynes, Marcelle Francis, Cynthia Liverpool, and Garner Liverpool, Pastors Kelvin Kublall and Dr Nerval Myrie, Master Guides; Debbie Telesford, Marcia Rhooms, Georgia Perry, Olvin Prince, Anthony Pegus, Syreka Dixon, Elder Ralph Walker and Director Rosanna Bullock.
Since that faithful day, we were blessed with an additional twelve new (inductees) members as we hosted a second notable induction ceremony December 7, 2019. Praise God for His wonderful works.
Well, then came Covid! We all know the effects of this pandemic and how churches and the ministries have been impacted. But we coped, strategize, planned, and served the best we could. We continued our monthly meetings, and as the norm, we met virtually until otherwise.
As God’s ministry continued to grow notwithstanding the odds against us, we made history once again as one of the first churches to host its first Master Guide virtual Induction ceremony, January 23, 2021. God blessed us once again with an additional five (inductees) new members. Thanks be to God!
Master Guide is a limitless uniform ministry. But the laborers are indeed few. God is calling us to this task of discipleship. He wants us to be His voice, hands, and feet as servants of God and friends to mankind. The question is, will you be “always ready to serve?”
May God continue to bless us as we give of our best to the Master, our True Master Guide.

Being a Master Guide
Being a Master Guide grants you a responsibility more than status. The Master Guide ministry was developed to train and develop leaders for the Church and in specific, for youth ministry.
Master Guides continues to be the highest level of Invested leadership within the Adventurer/ Pathfinder programs of the church. It focuses on one’s personal spiritual life and growth, first and foremost. General leadership skills are then woven into the sharpening of those skills, which are specifically geared to leading youth in God-ordained areas of development: understanding God’s world of nature, outreach ministry, service to others, and a life-style that denotes healthy living. As one church leader of the past put it so simply: “You can’t teach what you don’t know, and you can’t lead where you won’t go.” As leaders, we must not only be good at spouting theory if we expect to see success with our youth ministry; we must live what we preach and demonstrate it.
The Master Guide curriculum is primarily intended to train those who wish to be actively involved in junior youth ministry in their local church. Its objective is to provide opportunities for participants to develop an awareness of the role of child/youth leadership and become better prepared to accept this role by receiving training in:
- Personal and Spiritual Development Skills
- Development Leadership
- Development Fitness
- Life-style Development
